I don't think that doing a good deed to make your life worthwhile is selfish. Selfish people only think about themselves.If you help somebody and felt better about yourself then that doesn't mean you are selfish or that you are not a good person.
I think it's normal to feel better about ourselves if we help others.


I have worked in a place where I have been harrassed , mistreated but I was patient . Finally I got the fruit of patience and most of those who mistreated me became my friends.

However,there was this girl who caused me so much pain, she insulted me and I seriously was going to quit working because of her. I decided before I quit I should give her a gift . I remembered how she liked my scarf. So I bought a beautiful scarf and gave it to her. she was so shocked that she couldn't say a word. Next day she thanked me. I can not say she became nice to me but I can tell you for sure she changed the way she treated me.
Few months later she was the one who moved to another place.



There is an Arabic saying that I translate as :
"do a good deed and then throw it to the sea"
meaning if you do something good don't expect anything good in return not even a thank you.

nice saying you have there...
and you have great patience and quite unique way of dealing with those who treat you wrong.. again, great patience and perseverance

Now this is my biggest problem. I choke on words and nothing comes naturally whenever I want to express my feelings. This bothers me a lot.
I can write or show people my love by actions but saying the words is very difficult to me.

there are much more others out there who just talk and never act, Nada.
But you also need to speak more about your feelings as well, so that those you love would understand and know you better
