I don't know if I have the right group or if there is another one for breast cancer or not, but hear I am.
I just wanted to share a story about my mom who had breast cancer 7 yrs ago. I hope it will help those who have loved ones suffering from this.
My mom was always seen as a strong woman, and at first, it didn't bother her that she would be losing her hair, that her health was more important then anything she went through.
When she came home, she was silent, then she started crying, saying"Why me???, why now".
She's had a hard life , ever since she can remember, and this was the top of them all. She got saying how the doctor tested her emotions, and I thought it was so cruel.
She told me that the doctor came right out and said it bluntly, 1, you're gona lose your hair, 2, you're right breast will have to be removed, 3 you have to take kemo and radiation, and 4 this could kill you.
My jaws just dropped to the floor, that was so mean I thought.
Anyways, I have to do this in 2 parts, because I can't do it all here.
The next few months was hard on everyone involved and that is what part 2 will be about, how to cope and be understanding of this situation, I am hoping it will help anyone who has ever been through the same as us.
