Most cats that live in doors all their lives live to be between 16 to 20+ years providing that they are spay/neutered. These cats have less chance of developing serious illnesses, such as cancer, feline aides, etc.
Out side cats live if any length of time between 12 and 15 years again depending on if they are spay/neutered. These cats have a better chance of developing all kinds of feline illnesses.
Fural cats(wild domestic cats) their lifespan is about 4 years or less because as you know cats are territorial creatures they fight for females, food and their territory. They are also more septable to the various deceases and illnesses that cat can get.
I had a spay feline who lives to be the grand old age of 20 years in human years and about 100 years her lifetime.
