I had a siamese male who I had to put to sleep because he had a tumor on his thyroid glands that were inoperable. I had him 14 years..... his litter mate I found dead just 6 months prior to that.... It was such a sad time for me.

i had to put him sleep too . he was suffering and that doctor said he couldnt do anything for him.
my history with this cat was. my husband got from the pet store from mecoz i just had lost a baby. so he tought giving me a cat will solve my depression. i got very attached to him but not for too long. yeah i know is how to loose a pet. some people dont believe in that, they tell u how can u cry for a pet or even a cat!!. so just keep for myself.

When you have a pet for so long its like a family member. I cried off and on for days. I'm an emotional person who cant always hold them in, but thats ok too.

I had a beautiful solid white cat that was 20 years old and I had to put her to sleep on June 25th, 2007. Her name was Snowie kno kno for short. She was mine long before she was born(July 3rd,1987) I had her mothers owner while I was in hospital recovering from surgery. Snowies mother was solid white just like her. Out of a litter of 7 Snowie was the last one born. We had alot of wonderful years together! I miss her so much that everytime I see something that belongs to her I cry my heart out. She was the child that I could never have. Her vet said that she had had a stroke the day before and I did the right thing by her. I chose not to let her suffer. I know in my heart I did the right thing, but it still hurts terribly!
Now I have 2 young kittens that are 15 weeks old. One of my girls her name is Graysie and she is a long haired solid grey colour. The other one her name is Kayleigh and she is a calico, Her markings are quite unique! I have never seen a cat with her markings before.
I got Graysie the day after snowie died and Kayleigh came 3 days later. Some of my friends keep saying that I replaced snowie far too soon, but when I saw these lonely kittens in a cage at the vets office I know that since I could provide a good loving home to them I adopted them both.
I feel that I didnt replace snowie I just helped out 2 little ones that needed me as much as I needed their love and companionship. We have been a happy family since and I tell the girls all about their great great etc. aunt snowie!

Hi laura!!, that was a very lovely history, of course u did the right thing. you knew it the snowie was very sick, yes is hard to let him go. i couldnt do it eather, actually my husband went himself to do the same with my manolo.
in the other hand you got the 2 beautiful kittens, you are not replacing snowie because he is always in your heart, just you are given a home to 2 little ones that were waitting to be adopted, and usually ppl adopt more dogs than cats.anyway, tnx for ur share ur history and i wish u all the best in ur life.
take care...:)
