Hey guys, I have a friend who is an atheist, I have tried everything I can possibly think of to get Him to realise how obvious it is that God exists, but His answer to anything I say usually is a question which I can never answer well enough to convince Him. He says: Why does God allow bad things to happen to people, especially little children who suffer unspeakable acts of cruelty behind closed doors, even child molestation. Why does God allow poor innocent children to suffer this type of cruelty and pain if He really loves us??
I tell Him that sin came into the world because of man's disobedience, and God is hurt and so sad when bad things happen to His people. I pray about it, and I don't know what else to say? Can anyone help me with this situation? God bless and keep you all.

Stop preaching for a while and let them be, just be a friend and show Christ through your actions, when evangelizing use words as less as possible. Even everyday science proves god is real

“Why does God allow bad things to happen to people, especially little children who suffer unspeakable acts of cruelty behind closed doors, even child molestation. Why does God allow poor innocent children to suffer this type of cruelty and pain if He really loves us?”

God gave us free will, it is not his fault, we choose to do these things. And everyday he gives us a choice to help others and do something about situations like these
What is compassion without suffering?
If god healed everyone, then no one would die (Earthly), creating an over populated earth, we are not ment to live forever.

Well that's all i got... hope that helps
God Bless

Good answer Kristy.

Just a fun fact that you might like... there are 6.5 billion people on earth. If you gave every one 3 sq.ft. to live in the whole population of earth could fit within a 30 mile radious

Shall I Serve, The Creator Of All Mankind, He Who Allowed My Dark Existance To Walk The Face of This Earth For 374 Years. Or Shall I Serve He, The Allmighty Prince Who's Great And Powerful Kingdom Has Been Refuge For My Lost Soul. Before Today, I Would Have Never Questioned My Loyalty, But As I Rested My Eyes From A Long Eve Of Pain And Destruction, He Who They Call Yahweh Sent Forth An Angel With A Message For Me. You See I, Ankur, Am A Powerful Weapon For My Great Dark Master. And As The Days Of The Great Battle Become Nearer Every Second, The One Who Knows Must Recruit Me Or Convert My Loyalty To All That Is Good.So This Angel Spoke To Me In A Tongue I Have Not Heard Spoken In Many Years. Each Sound That Was Uttered From The Angel, Peirced My Chest With Such Power Until It Bore A Spiritual Hole To A Part Of Me I Thought Had Gone Cold Forever. The Angel, Who's Name I Cannot Mention Because All Who Even Read Or Hear This Angels Name Will Fall Dead, Placed In Me A Granule Like Portion Of His Mightiest Weapon:Love! So Now You Understand My Great Woes. Whom Shall I Serve ?

Do they really die??... or does theyre life actually start. What hes doing is releaving them somtimes thinking about the benefit of a person or more or many other alternatives.... but KNow this He always knows what he is doing and his wisdom is way too vast for our simple minds but he never does any mistake and he always does whats best 4 everybody... Also to live is Christ but to die is gain... God sees all, everybody thats hurting and crying but You and I... got to trust him in everything he does and we should know that Its Gods will and It will all be good in the end and He did the right thing for u, me, friends relatives, the world, Everybody... Dont worry and put ure trust in Gods wisdom...

Well I have a question that has been driving me mad for ...... well about a month now and I can't wrap my head around it so i figured... why not just ask you. =)
Ok, why is it that we must fear God? Like we're supposed to love him and praise him and thank him... but be afraid of God when he is our tower of strength, our refuge???? Got any answers? I'll take ANY! thanks. =)

This is a bit of a misconception built up from attempts to translate the Bible word for word from the Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic. And, This was developed upon quite heavily by a number of groups into a view that we should be afraid of God due to the shame and guilt of sin.

When individuals are described as encountering God or an Angel they are full of "fear" whereas the translations should read "awe-struck". They are moments when finite man is encountering the infinite, you can imagine that this would be quite an overpowering experience. This is where the "fear" is coming from, from the magnitude of the presence of God.

If I have time later I'll go through this in some detail.

Sara, I know this may seem argumentative with the reply given by the earlier commentator, but his answer is wrong. We are not to fear God because of sin. But as Jesus said, do not fear the one who can kill the body, but fear him who can cast both body and soul into hell.

We fear God as Creator (our maker). We love him for being our savior, our redeemer, but we fear him because he is the Lord. He is God, and he alone is to be feared and respected.

The fear we should have for him is not like the fear we have from scary movies but a fear based out of respect and reality of who he is.

:) This does not change his love, just our way of dealing with him. We show more honor and respect to one we know is able to kill us easily. But we also love him for being so meek and merciful to us who have offended him, by breaking his law, and his commands.

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, un-inhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to come rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions.
But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened: everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. “God, how could you do this to me!” he cried.
Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. “How did you know I was here?” asked the weary man of his rescuers. “We saw your smoke signal,” they replied.

It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad. But we shouldn’t lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember next time your little hut is burning to the ground- it just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God. For all the negative things we have to say for ourselves, God has a positive answer for it.

No I'm not a bible thumper lol. But it comes with a deep personal relationship with God that one can really enjoy life. I take it that you may not be into God because He isn't answering your prayers and that things still are going wrong, correct? Well if that is so then it is important to know that God does want to help you, but there are things that can stop His blessings and answers coming thorugh and that is our own sin. It is like a barricade that halts the blessings and answers we seek unless we work to get rid of them by repentance and asking forgiveness. Only then can that bring down that wall of our sins and let God's answers to our prayers come through. If you're struggling with areas of sin and have yet to do anything about it, then that may be the reason you're not getting answers. But another important thing to do is to believe and trust in God to help and answer you, if you don't trust God or believe He can help you, that in itself is also a wall. Resisting things that are wrong and having trust in God will help you get God's answers to your prayers. Most often when we don't get answers, the problem usually lies within ourselves. If you're still finding things hard, don't try to do them by yourself, so I don't know if you attend a church or not but even so, if any of your friends are christian you could ask them to give you advice or help you with whatever the problems are. Hope this will see you through. :)

Okay well it's important to know that race means little to God, so likewise it should mean little to Christians as well. I personally think that too many people in various nations take an unjustified stance that other races are out to 'take over the country'. Just because someone isn't white, in no way does that justify ill will towards those people. Christians should always act towards others in love and caring, to uplift others and not criticize and hurt them.

You should read the story of Adam and Eve in the book of Genesis in the Holy Bible. It is probably the best answer that you will get to your question. But In my limited humanity I will answer as best I can if God will by his Holy Spirit lead me.

God is not looking at things the way we do. So he some times allows things to happen for reasons we would not understand or know. Understand that death is a thing based on a limit of time God has given to each and every individual who has been effected by sin (that is all of creation). As long as you are walking with God no one can change that time limit that God has set. But, when we are not walking with God that time limit can be broken by Satan. For you must remember that we are not dealing with physical forces but spiritual ones.

Every thing that may appear physical is simply an extension of the real world, the spirit world. God is a spirit, and so is Satan. Every thing that this world is composed of is based on a spiritual matrix or foundation. It is all subject to spiritual laws and order. Out side of the order that God has set, things happen that may not be Gods will. Satan is the one who targets any one who goes out side of Gods order.

Death is not always a thing that God chooses for every one. But it happens any ways. Death is a result of sin (man turning away from Gods order (man missing the mark)) There for death is a by product of sin, not God. God is trying to get us to listen to him. That is why we are to tell every one about Gods gift of salvation through His Only Son, Jesus. It is every individuals own choice whether they accept Jesus or reject him. But God is God, What he allows is up to him, not us. We are his creation. We are not the creators. Some things we will not know until we see him Face to face.

So to answer your question directly: People die because of sin. God did not choose death for us. It was Adam and Eve, the first humans who chose death for us all. Gods heart is broken by this, and that is why he sent us a way of freedom from death - His only Son Jesus Christ.

I hope that this helped. You can e-mail me at sozo_no_kami_no_gi@yahoo.com if you have more questions. God bless you and lead you into all truth by his Holy Spirit.

Well a relationship with a non-Christian is only wrong in the occassion it causes a Christian to lose their moral footing and become more easy and loose in their faith and standing in Christ. Questions one should ask is, does this relationship cause me to reject the Word? Does it make me compromise instead of making a stand in my faith? Does this realtionship put Christ in the backseat? Does this make me more "worldly"? If yiou answered yes then it's a clear sign that relationship is wrong.

If the other person makes requests (or demands) that you "loosen up" in your standing with Jesus then that's also a clear sign that it is wrong. A good relationship doesn't get in the way of your relationship with Jesus. If they don't make you lossen up or ask anything of you that may cause one to stumble in their walk with Jesus, then it isn't wrong.

If one is already with a non-christian then my advice is live by every Word of God and let them see Christ in you so that they one day may also become a fellow believer in Jesus. And remember A.S.A.P. (Always Say A Prayer!)

Blessya- Mike :)

hello everyone how are you all today ? i just joined this group and say the question " why does god allow evil ? "
i myself have been searching the answer to this question and here are some of the common answers i found .

1 : every evil deed begins with a thought ..if god was to control of filter our thoughts we would not be able to choose anything . we would become like pentium duo-core do more processors .so god does not control our thought or actions .

2 : god cannot stop one sin and allow another ..if god was to stop rapes ...he would stop lies , hatred , profanity and all things which are not good ...imagine where would you and i be then .

3 : how would ppl realise the value of good things if there werent bad things ? light would loose its value if there was no darkness...laughter would mean nothing without tears ..joy would mean nothing if you dont know wht sorrow is ...

i was not fully satisfied with these answers however i know that god will judge every man according to his deeds.

praise god ..to him be honor and glory forever ..amen

Hey Shivy :)...This is the fundemental question that everyone faces sometime in their life~- im sure that if we had a good answer to this one we would have a lot more chrisitan conversions!!!!!. However im sorry to hear your not satisfied with the reasons u mentioned :(. i agree with the first argument tho. if you think about it hard it actually makes sence.....here goes.... try to imagine a puppet show, the Ventriloquist controlling the whole show but is giving the ILLUSION that the puppets are, the puppets cannot move nor speak without "permission" from the puppet controller, they are dead weights without his intervienning. Essentially this is what we would become if God was to interviene and controll our responces and actions. Theoredically what use would we be?, simply we would EXIST, in essence we would be caged in our own bodies- as free choice would not exist. responces, actions and choices would be monitored, ordered and CORRECTED!.
There would also be the question as to when does God intervinee and when does he let it pass- how far does God go..... does he let a lie go forth but stop a murder?
i mean there both sins but what does he let pass???- the answer is; he wouldn't let either pass and hence we would be stopped 100000's of times a day ( i know i would!!!!!).Essesntially God has blessed us with free choice Shivy, instead of questioning it, try to feel honoured by it,blessed even, i know its hard to conteemplate evil but as chrisitans we have to see it as a challenge to live up to... hes watching, waiting for you to choose the right path, (without his intervineeing!!!!!!!!!):P.

I however do not agree with the 3rd reason. i dont believe that God has given us heartache to justify blesssings. As someone that has suffered i dont think you can say that "without suffering there would be no compassion" it really doesn't justify a means for those who have felt pain.

God bless in your walk with christ
hope ive helped sister :P

there was something u said in your comment that i do really agree.

"Theoredically what use would we be?, simply we would EXIST, in essence we would be caged in our own bodies- as free choice would not exist. responces, actions and choices would be monitored, ordered and CORRECTED!. "

i just think that God brings tests to our life for him to make sure that our intention towards him are right and that he allow us to go through times when we feel that God is not there, like he is not in control and those time are the time when we have to be faithful.
God do give us an option choose between life and death, its not like at the time u become a christian you loose ur mind, you make choises everyday Godly or not, but choises.

God bless you.

you know i was reading a book one of these days and it said something like this.
Bad situation are suppose to happen cuz we are not suppose to be complitely happy in our time here in earth, so that we can be eager about going back home, God send rain to good and bad, why is he not gonna send problems and difficult situation to everyone.
Instead of complaining about how much we suffer, we should go through the problems feeling happy, cuz God is doing something in our life, God would not send problems to a person he doesnt care about.
