| A music prodigy, Jay is skilled and trained in both contemporary and classical music. His effusive talents are also seen through many previous songs written by Jay for the other well-known artists, such as Valen Hsu, Vivian Hsu, and Jacky Wu. At the tender age of 21, Chou is the song-writer, arranger, and producer for his entire album, as well as the lyricist for two of the ten songs. Not bad for one that has just begun his musical career.
Chou's album provides a non-traditional and innovative sound. Tracks such as "Istanbul," "Tornado," and "Backwards Clock" are soulful and romantic love songs, each with a unique and fresh beat. In "Black Humor," Chou expresses his deepest emotions about losing his love, stretches his vocal limits, and takes the audience to a realm of heart-felt sorrow.
There are two more tracks worth mentioning. "Star Gazing," a relaxing song sung beautifully with simple lyrics, leaving the listener humming to its melody. "Three-On-Three Basketball" is an upbeat hip-hop song that redefines the "too-cool-for-life" attitude of the e-generation.
