Jesus' love
Jesus is amazing! When he suffered and died for us, he did everything so that no one, even if they wanted to, could suffer as much as He did.
Firstly when He was in the Garden of Gethsemane, He sweated blood which no one could survive. Once, a prisoner at a concentration camp in WW II burst his capillaries and sweated 2 drops of blood because he was undergoing and enormous amount of stress and fear. He immediately died. (This shows you how much pain Jesus must have felt when he knew that he would undergo the most painful death for people who be ungratful).
Secondly, the scourging of the pillar. They say that after the scourging, he was so disfigured that at first, many people could not recognize who he was.
Thirdly, the the carrying of the cross. Jesus, the Son of God, was so exhausted, that they had to have Simon of cyrene to carry his cross.
And finally, his crucificion. In the Bible, it states that he was so disfigured, that" he was not a man, but a worm".
And why do you think he did this? Because he saw that even though the majority of man would go against him, he knew that a few good souls would follow him. And this is how much Jesus loves us.
