"If God did not spare His own Son, but freely delivered Him over to death on our behalf, how will He not also, with Him, freely give us all things" (Romans 8:32)?

When God wished to test Abraham, He did not ask him to sacrifice a sheep, a ram, or a cow. He did not ask for Abraham's gold or silver or tents or possessions. He went right to the heart of the matter and asked for Isaac, the son of promise. How gladly Abraham would have given anything and everything but his own beloved son. But in the willingness to give up his son, he was, in essence, laying everything down on the altar. When God owns what the man loves most, He owns everything the man has.

In the same way, the Father, wishing to demonstrate His great love for us, has not given us parts and pieces of things, but has sacrificed His only Son. By giving us His Son, He has, in essence and in fact, freely given us everything. When man possesses what God loves most, he owns everything God has. This is why I say we have little else to ASK God for, but much to PRAISE Him about: for IN CHRIST, God has freely given us all things.

Worship starts with God's love. As we receive His love for us, we respond to that love. Our relationship with Him must be based on the understanding that "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16, NKJV).

If worship is not built on a solid foundation, our Christian walk will be like riding a roller coaster. One day we are up and declaring how good God is. Then before we know it, we're on the top looking down at the first huge plunge, crying, "O God, where are You?"

You begin by loving Jesus purely and wholeheartedly in response to His love for you. Demonstrate your love for Him through praise, song and other expressions of adoration, through your obedience to His Word, and through your love for other people.

Ask the Holy Spirit to empower you to worship "in spirit and truth" (John 4:24). Let your whole being become the instruments and the songs of worship as you "give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; [and] worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness" (Ps. 29:2).

(Rom 5:6-8 NRSV) For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person--though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.

I am the one who sins every day. But Jesus was the one Who died a tortuous death to pay for my sins.

I am the one who spouts out spiteful words, but Jesus is the one Who was spit on and mocked.

I am the one who evinces pride, but Jesus is the Humble Servant Who submitted Himself to a degrading death for me.

I am the one who is selfish, but Jesus is the Redeemer Who sacrificed ease and comfort to come to Earth and die in my place, so I could spend eternity with Him.

What can I possibly to do ever repay Him? There are not enough good deeds, money or sacrifices in the world to adequately repay Him. But what I owe Him, and what He desires, is my life -- all of me.
