Hi there, Eiluj.
My measurement will be my peso power..
Try to go market, and see the prevailing prices.
I can't stretch my weekly budget anymore.
The statistics and the current situation on our purchasing power is quite different.
Our WALLETS will speak for itself.
Regards,
Aireen

yup,,rice shortage is on top issue nowadays..i think,, the best thing GMA will do is to stop foreigners from buying and selling rice,,especially those who are aliens and are not ligetimate business holder in our country..instead of importing rice to our country.. in this case,,Filipino will have the power over the pricing of rice..

All of asia is suffering under the high cost of rice. All asian government should get together and do whats necessary to bring down the high cost of this very important staple of life. It is difficult for me to judge the behavior of any government leader as I'm not in the philippines all the time. I wish for the best for my country & its people.

the Philippine`s are going trough a massive change now as their is so much immigration now,,and people are coming back with more money in their pockets to buy buy buy,,and this will have a drastic effect on the non immigrants and non land owners in short,,,its a chain,,and the rice is but one example of it,,inflating house prices is on an up ward trend also,,
and this trend will get much worse ,,plus the distribution problems also make it more difficult,,more efficient access to the population is also need,,

Hello,
This is MK. I am not a Philippino but I would like to say something regarding the inflations especially on the rice pricing.
The pricing of rice not only hurts the Philippino but it damages more to those in other parts of Asia, especially to those countries which need to import rice badly. The price shoots up by 300% and it is expecting to go up again soon. If I were a Philippinos, I will start to be a farmer and start planting rice now! This perhaps will help in some ways.

hi Mk,,
thanks for the suggestion..but for your info Mr. MK,,as what had been noted from an interview of one farmer who hold wide ricefields ,,we have here enough yellow rice planted here in Phil..but because of some tourist (aliens that have no business visa )secretly buy yellow rice in low price and stock it for their own business purpose..and then they'll sold it in high price to Filipinos.. we,,filipinos suffer such high price of rice..our government should take an eye on that issue,,i think..
got this info from local news here...

oh i forgot the PHILIPPINE ECONOMY...
GMA is an economist but the question is
did she used what she learned about the
economy... God every 1st Friday i am
attending mass in Quiapo and i see all
those street children in the underpass
or anywhere in Quiapo asking for a coin
to buy their food... i really don't
know why GMA is always saying our
economy is booming but why i always see street
children anywhere... very simple... its
because our government is CORRUPT.......

yes its true that GMA is a good economist and nobody can question on her knowledge, but what can a good president do if the opposition is continuously bombarding the administration of one issue to another. Lets take for example that of Lozada, many believe that all what he is saying were all true when in fact, nobody knows his hidden agenda, running for a senator may be, bec. if he will do that this time, for sure he was benifited by the issue that he himself try to exaggerate.
Another, we are complaining of the wallet not going that far, go to malls.....can you see crisis there? people are buying even those things they dont need and in the end complain to the government that the administration is not doing something. It should start from our personal budgetting not blaming all to the administration of all our mismanagement of our personal financial difficulty.
another one, the RICE issue, that i would accept that if only the government is strong enough in the monitorinf of the hoarding and the prevention of all the illegal importations, and those smuggling...which is so rampant from the time of President Estrada.....then there wouldnt have been any chain effect to our purchasing power.
Havent you noticed that everytime the US is into recession then Asia will also be affected....why? bec. US is one of our biggest market....the dollar is low and the exporters are at losing end, they cannot adjust the price of the product as it has been quoted before at that price, and so many lost their jobs and thats what make it worst.
This is just for now.....

BUT THE biggest maker and contributor of our Crisis are those sitting on those nice chairs from the Municipal Buildings, City Hall, Capitol, Senate, Congress, and the Excutive or that in Malacanang are the ones making these country at her worst.............billions of pesos went to personal pockets....had it been that these money were really put into good use.....we would have been more proud to be a FILIPINO....so its not just GMA WHO has to be blamed all.................not only her but so many...down to the senate....inquiry made only to benefit those who make the grandstanding....then win again in the election.......................BUT WHOSE TO BLAME BUT WE THE PEOPLE WHO accepts money to VOTE for this BASTARDS..............

oh my dear lucy....
great compliment!!! yes lucy we can't blame
GMA but look she just paid for what she got
from the last election i mean the people
who gave support for her candidacy during
the presidential election coz we all knew
that nobody gave their money just easy
as that but of course they have a very
strong hidden agenda like the bussinessman
i think you know who they are..... and those
people wants to live in palace. In politics
all are the same always promised that they can
do everything just for the country but after
winning where they are... hope this will give
us reason and hope that in election we
have to think million times if this people
are really have the capability to lead us
into a better nation........ cheers.........

I cannot say that she cheated on the last election but almost all did it, look at Cayetano, is he really good or is he inventing things to let him win the election as Senator, inventing an account number in Germany really did him well and it brought him to the Senate...what had he done so far..........ahhhhh just spending the 200 million annual budget i guess.....grandstanding is all they can do.
ITS the system that has to be changed, but changing it is not just a matter of ten years , 15 years.....IF the people will not change...then this nation will not change. The government officials will not have that will to do ill doings if the people will not allow it.....kaya lang kulang tayo sa guts to prohibit them....kasi malakas talaga ang power sa PESO, we do have to inculcate, educate our people so much so that even the lowest class can get and fully understand the outcome of receiving election money.....then and only then can we expect change.
Nobody is exempted giving doleouts during election, even the SK who are our supposedly trained new politicians are now engaging into it....theres so much to do , so many things to change, its only thru EDUCATION......will change everything.Educate the people ...........before we can expect change.

yes thats the first thing
we need to do educate people
but lucy even people that has higher
education has cheated just to be
on top hahaha... just my opinion
and i respect your opinion too..
well, i don't know if cayetano
is really has his evidence hahaha
coz until now we dont know who is
saying the truth.... and no body knows
the truth except themselves...
thanks.. cheers........

fOR purposes of discussion only, what i meant of education is not the going to schools.......no its not....its the information dissemination to the people, letting them understand what these BASTARDS are doing to us, and make available these options to these lowly educated ones.
Its them who will make the difference bec. of the higher percentage they are among our voting population.
BUT I AGREE, ALL OFFICIALS BE HE OR SHE HOLDING THE HIGHEST OR THE LOWEST POSITION........they all have their share of this bravado of corruption in our country.A need of uplifting and inculcating again the so called MORAL VALUES.........but when????????????? HA HA we will not be there anymore to witness if it will..................thanks and regards...take care

country... but still can we have changes soon?

@majority voters
we share the same view...it's so frustrating to note that these people who casted their votes on certain candidates for a hundred or two are also the ones running and shouting on the streets for their stepping-down for a hundred or two too....and admit it, those group of people who don't even pay their taxes have so much to complain...they are just worsening the situation...

Hello Joy,
Greetings!
well as always frustrations is there but
what we can do money can buy everything
in this world used small people who are
ignorant about politics, just to feed their
hunger they can sale their votes without
thinking that after the election we are
going to pay for their own faults for not
voting the right leader. For me they are all the same wants power, fame and wealth at our expense.
so what we expect from them nothing our country
get worse everyday. maayong hapon....

...it's just sickening to note that few capitalize on the "ignorance" of the majority....on the second thought, maybe this is just one of the situations that we see justifying the "ends justifying the means" concept....

yes ignorance but why until now
we never learned from the marcoses?
i dont understand. Ignorance of the
majority affects so many lives specially
the new generation until when we suffer
fron this kind of rulers, until when
we are going to follow the wrong way?
its lies upon us but one cannot do it
we need the majority to exrcise our freedom
but how? all has cost......sorry for being
so rude........

and just a piece of thought - the situation that our country is in now can also be rooted towards peoples attitude to everything...filipinos always complain about hunger, poverty etc.etc but compare the bulk of people in lotto outlets, games shows etc. to the line of job applicants'...and enrolment lines to talent search auditions..i could go on with the list... :-/
