Ian Smith died in Cape Town 21.11.2007

Subject: Rhodesia - We will remember him The Times - London. It seems that many people do not know the difference between 'racialism'and 'realism'. Ian Smith was not racist - he believed in 'the right manwith the right qualification for the Job and in his opinion and the opinionof many thousand Rhodesians, black Africans were not ready to Govern 40years ago. They lacked the knowledge and integrity of good governance whichtime has proved. Politics is not one-sided as many African Leaders think itis. Good Governance does not include Greed, personal gain or violence.Unfortunately for Smith and the many, many Rhodesians scattered throughoutthe World,we will be persecuted until the last Man is standing. No-one everbothers to find out the truth about Rhodesia and it's people. We likeSmith, will always be 'tarred' with the 'Racist brush'. Is it not a strangephenomenon that to be deemed a 'Racist' you have to be 'White' to qualify?May his Soul rest in Peace. At the going down of the Sun and in themorning-WE WILL REMEMBER HIM!

He was truly a GREAT man. My dad had the honour to have met him. Humble he was as most of us (whites) should be. He had to be hard some times. A weak hand can't rule a country where the enemy is lurking to grasp what you had tried to maintain well, and that he surely did.
