Scary Guy was a new venture for our junior children and from the moment he
entered the hall to the moment he left he held the children spellbound.Staff felt that his message reinforced all that we teach the children but in a very different way. Scary Guy is a real person, the children can identify with yet at the same time he is larger than life, an entertainer with a message but underneath it all a man on a mission. He left our school; mission achieved!Children and staff talk about Scary and his promises and pledges. I use him as an example of how we should all behave, reinforcing the message of being responsible for your own actions, making the right decisions and the hardest thing to do, thinking positive thoughts all the time.Scary Guy is welcome at Barrowcliff Junior School at any time.Dave EvansHeadteacher
Hello Scary Guy!
It's Chloe from the bunch of kids at Scalby School. Next week I will be teaching Friarage school students and I am going to take into account all of the things that Cathryn taught me.
I think that what you do is amazing and it is reallly nice, for a change, to see someone trying to make a difference in our world of hatred. I am going to try my hardest to pass the message you give on to other primary school kiddies!
Rule 1. Open one door a day for another person You have opened a door for me by helping me to teach others. I think that it is really amazing and thankyou for opening that door for me. When i am older my aim is to be a primary school teacher and today gave me a real insight of what i am going to have to do if I want to properly achieve that goal of mine. Thankyou so much for your time in reading my mail and for coming to Scalby School in Scarborough, goodbye for now dude!
Chloe from the Scalby bunch! xxxxx
LIFE CHANGING STORY FROM CRAIG
The Scary Guy came into my school in 2004 and before that i was being bullied every day by people twice the size of me. I took inspiration from his speech to stand up against bullies. I tried the 7 day 7 night challenge and completed it. After i had completed it i felt a sense of achievement. From the week after i had completed the challenge i felt bigger around school and was proud of who i was. I still kept on being bullied though. One day i stood up for myself and walked away from the bullies. This really annoyed them but every time they called me i would just walk away and that was that. Over the next few months i was getting a reputation of being kind and Caring (which i always was but people just didn..t want to talk to a child who's being bullied) and got more confidence. I started getting involved in the drama at school which was full of people i had never really talked to in my life.Since then i have been made my form representative 2 years in a row and i am a Prefect. Scary guy has changed my life for the better and i thank him with all my heart.Craig , Y11 Student, Hartlepool
